Used and Demo Equipment

DEMO EQUIPMENT

Ten-Tec often has demonstrator models of currently manufactured equipment available for sale. These are items that have been used at the factory, taken to hamfests or other events for display purposes, or sold as new and returned to us on our 30 day risk-free trial period. We re-sell these items not as new, but as demo gear, and they are backed with the same 30 day trial period and 1 year factory parts and labor warranty as if new. They are sold at a discount of 5 to 10% off the new price depending on the item.

We do not post a current list of available demo equipment to our web site as our inventory changes often. To request a list, please send an e-mail message to useddemo@tentec.com requesting the current used/demo gear list.

USED EQUIPMENT

Ten-Tec takes some used Ten-Tec equipment in as trades on used, demo, or new equipment. We factory recondition and sell as used gear any trade-ins we receive. Please note: We do not take in or sell any other brand of gear than our own.

We can take your modern Icom, Kenwood, or Yaesu equipment in as a trade-in on new, used, or demo Ten-Tec equipment via an arrangement we have made with The Ham Station of Evansville, IN. Ham Station can take your trade-in Japanese gear and any credit they offer you as a trade-in will be applied to a Ten-Tec order. Call them at (812) 422-0231 or sales@hamstation.com.

Factory reconditioned used equipment is sold with a 10 day risk-free money back guarantee (customer pays shipping both ways) and a 30 day parts and labor warranty. No cosmetic repairs are made to used gear, but we will be happy to describe any used piece of equipment prior to purchase.

If you have a Ten-Tec transceiver that you are interested in trading in, please contact us for current trade allowance. We quote trade-ins under the assumption that the equipment is in good cosmetic condition and is not in need of any electrical repairs. “Good” cosmetic condition is defined as no lettering worn off buttons, knobs or front panel, no major scratches, no dents, no broken trim pieces, no stickers that can’t be removed, no pen marks, non-smoking environment. A small scratch or two is considered normal wear-and-tear and does not affect the trade-in value. Equipment that requires electrical repairs but is OK cosmetically can be traded in to us; repair costs will be deducted from trade value if the radio is repairable. Rigs with electrical modifications, extra jacks added or non-OEM antenna tuners installed cannot be taken as trade-ins.

Due to the age and ability to warranty the equipment to the next owner, we do not take trade-in transceivers older than the Paragon II and Omni-VI. Transceivers that we will accept as trade-ins, assuming good cosmetic and electrical condition as above: 516 Argonaut V, 538 Jupiter, 563 Omni-VI (all versions), 564 Omni-VI Plus, 565 Orion, 566 Orion II, 586 Paragon II, 588 Omni-VII.

We do not post a list of currently available used equipment to our web site. Our inventory constantly fluctuates and we would not be able to keep the listing current. To have a list of currently available used and demo gear forwarded by e-mail one time only, send a message requesting the current used/demo gear list to useddemo@tentec.com

We also have a subscription service to receive the used and demo list each time it is updated (approximately every two weeks) via email. Click here to subscribe to the used / demo gear mailing list. Click here to un-subscribe to the used / demo gear mailing list.
