This awesome performance from a desktop amplifier is made possible by a pair of Russian-made GU-74B tubes. These rugged, inexpensive tubes are a tougher version of the popular 4CX800A that have higher plate dissipation, resulting in higher overall power output – allows you to run 1500 watts output power loafing the tubes even more than 4CX800A’s! These tubes are well-known for their reliability in amateur radio service and were a natural choice for Ten-Tec for TITAN III.
The TITAN III’s heavy duty power supply features a 46 pound transformer, step-start inrush protection, separate transformer for screen supply, and screen grid current regulation. Our unique L-Pi-L tank circuit design assures cool, balanced Q operation and excellent harmonic suppression. Multi-position bandswitch even includes the WARC bands. Alodine plated interior chassis.
TITAN III includes full time metering of plate current, and switchable metering of plate voltage, screen grid current, forward and reverse power. Separate LED bargraph meter provides continuous peak reading power output monitoring.
Built-in protective circuitry keeps your TITAN III safe from operator error. The control grid is guarded by current limiting to keep you on the air to work that station even if the “tune up” isn’t perfect…and overdrive LED lets you know about it. Band Coverage: 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 17 and 15 meters (12 and 10 meters for authorized users)
Power Output: 1500 watts continuous in SSB, CW, AMTOR/PACTOR (50% duty cycle modes). 1000 watts RTTY/SSTV for up to 10 minutes (100% duty cycle modes).

Tubes: 2 x GU74B ceramic tetrode in grid-driven configuration.
Plate Voltage Supply: Step-start inrush protected. 3000 VDC at no load, 2700 VDC at full load. 6 amp; 1000 PIV matched diodes in full wave bridge. Filtered by 9 each 450 VDC 220 uF electrolytic capacitors. 10 ohm arc absorption resistor.
Efficiency: Up to 65% depending on band, frequency, line voltage, and load impedance.
Input/Output impedances: 50 ohms unbalanced with VSWR < 2:1.
Harmonic Suppression: Meets or exceeds FCC requirements.
Full Break-in: Built-in with T/R switching of less than 7 milliseconds.
Protective Circuits: A) Screen grid current regulation, over voltage protection and metal-oxide varistor arc-over protection. LED overdrive indication. B) Control grid current regulation, over-current limiting, LED overdrive indication. C) Plate current overdrive trip at 1.5A, series resistor for arc absorption.
